30 Sep 2025 Djibouti (Djibouti) Egypt Today. Prime minister Abdulkader Kamil Mohamed meets with Egypt’s ambassador to Djibouti, Abdelrahman Raafat, to discuss bilateral ties;

30 Sep 2025 Kinshasa (DRC) The Namibian. Military court sentences former president Joseph Kabila has been sentenced to death in absentia for war crimes, treason and crimes against humanity, linked to his alleged support for the M23 rebel group;

30 Sep 2025 Nairobi (Kenya) Daily Nation. Former president Uhuru Kenyatta publicly challenges President William Ruto’s leadership for the first time since leaving office, creating political tension within Kenya;

29 Sep 2025 Kampala (Uganda) Independent. Uganda officially launches the presidential campaigns ahead of the 2026 polls, with eight candidates, including President Yoweri Museveni, set to run;

28 Sep 2025 Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) Borkena. At the third BRICS foreign ministers meeting, Ethiopia’s foreign affairs minister, Hadera Abera, urges member countries to take a greater role in promoting peace and development;

28 Sep 2025 Kigali (Rwanda) The New Times. United States (US) senior advisor for Africa, Massad Boulos, meets with foreign minister Olivier Nduhungirehe and Rwanda’s United Nations (UN) envoy Martin Ngoga to discuss the implementation of the Rwanda–Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) peace agreement and broader cooperation;

27 Sep 2025 Kinshasa (DRC) La Prosperite. DRC and Rwanda agree to begin implementing the United States (US)‑mediated peace deal starting 1 October, which includes disarming the Forces Démocratiques de Libération du Rwanda militia and withdrawing Rwandan troops;

26 Sep 2025 Gitega (Burundi) Sputnik News. Health minister, Lydwine Baradahana, announces that Burundi is seeking a partnership with Russia to advance cancer treatment, focusing on developing infrastructure for a nuclear technology-equipped hospital;

26 Sep 2025 Asmara (Eritrea) Shabiat. Foreign affairs minister Osman Saleh meets with United States (US) senior advisor for Africa, Massad Boulos, on the side lines of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) to discuss cooperation;

25 Sep 2025 Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) Borkena. Prime minister Abiy Ahmed meets with Russia’s President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the Global Atomic Forum in Russia;

25 Sep 2025 Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) IMF. International Monetary Fund (IMF) concludes a staff visit to Tanzania, highlighting robust economic growth of 5.4% in the first quarter of 2025 and a low inflation rate of 3.4% in August, but warns that several risks remain including the upcoming elections, geoeconomic fragmentation and trade slowdowns;

25 Sep 2025 Kampala (Uganda) Reuters. The Netherlands and Uganda reach a cooperation agreement on returning rejected asylum seekers to their home countries via Uganda as a transit point;
