4 Mar 2026 Kigali (Rwanda) Financial Times. The United States (US) imposes sanctions on Rwanda’s military and four senior commanders, accusing them of supporting the M23 rebel group and undermining the December peace agreement with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC);

4 Mar 2026 Djibouti (Djibouti) Economic Times. Four children die in southern Djibouti’s Dhikil Region after an explosion, with the Djiboutian League for Human Rights alleging it was a drone strike;

3 Mar 2026 Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) Sudan TribuneSudan’s foreign ministry accuses Ethiopia of allowing drones to launch attacks from its territory into Sudan, calling the actions a violation of sovereignty and warning that it reserves the right to respond;

3 Mar 2026 Nairobi (Kenya) Daily NationUnited States (US)-headquartered Starlink is expanding its footprint in Kenya through a partnership with local internet provider Mawingu Networks to boost satellite broadband access;

3 Mar 2026 Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) The Citizen. Tanzania is expanding its fuel reserves with new bulk storage tanks at Dar es Salaam Port, aiming to strengthen energy security amid ongoing Middle East conflicts;

3 Mar 2026 Kampala (Uganda) ReutersBank of Uganda (central bank) will launch a domestic gold-buying programme this month, aiming to purchase at least 100kg of gold by June to boost reserves and protect the economy from global financial risks;

2 Mar 2026 Kinshasa (DRC) Financial Afrik. Banque Centrale du Congo (central bank) and Banque des États de l’Afrique Centrale (BEAC) (bank of central African states) sign a cooperation agreement to strengthen technical exchanges and harmonise regulatory practices;

2 Mar 2026 Nairobi (Kenya) Daily Nation. A planned Kenya tea export deal worth Sh5.6 billion ($41m) is disrupted due to the escalating conflict involving the United States (US)Israel and Iran;

2 Mar 2026 Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) The Citizen. Tanzania and Ghana agree to strengthen economic cooperation focused on natural resources, following talks between President Samia Suluhu Hassan and Ghana’s President John Dramani Mahama;

2 Mar 2026 Nairobi (Kenya) Daily Nation. Kenya condemns the recent United States (US) and Israeli strikes on Iran, which targeted several Gulf states, calling the attacks a threat to regional stability;

28 Feb 2026 Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) BorkenaEthiopian Airlines cancels all flights to and from the Middle East over the current security situation;

28 Feb 2026 Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) The CitizenTanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority (Tiseza) signs a cooperation agreement with the American Chamber of Commerce to boost investment opportunities;

27 Feb 2026 Kinshasa (DRC) AP News. The United States (US) and the DRC sign a $1.2 billion health partnership under which the US will provide up to $900m over five years to combat HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria and maternal and child mortality, while Congo will contribute $300m in domestic funding;

26 Feb 2026 Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) The CitizenRussia pledges to deepen military cooperation with Tanzania, announcing the commitment during a defence celebration;

26 Feb 2026 Djibouti (Djibouti) Streamline. The largest multinational military drill, led by United States (US) Africa Command, has begun across Kenya, Tanzania and Djibouti with over 1,500 personnel participating to strengthen regional security and interoperability against threats like al-Shabaab and humanitarian crises;
