22 Apr 2026 Nairobi (Kenya) Decode 39. Kenya and Italy sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on defence cooperation, bolstering bilateral ties;

19 Apr 2026 Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) The Citizen. The tourism sector reaches a significant milestone with annual arrivals hitting 5.9 million, moving the country closer to its strategic goal of eight million visitors by 2030;

18 Apr 2026 Kampala (Uganda) Africa News. Parliament is debating the proposed Sovereignty Protection Bill that seeks to curb foreign interference by requiring government authorisation for diaspora remittances and labelling recipients of foreign funds as foreign agents, but critics argue it could undermine constitutional rights and severely impact family’s dependent on remittances;

18 Apr 2026 Djibouti (Djibouti) IOL. Following the re-election of Djibouti’s President Ismail Omar Guelleh with 97.8% of the vote, critics argue the result reflects the will of the political elite rather than the electorate, citing suppressed press freedom and constitutional amendments that removed age and term limits;
