7 Oct 2025 Kigali (Rwanda) Kigali Today. Infrastructure minister Jimmy Gasore notes that Rwanda’s parliament approves agreements allowing the country to use the airspace of 12 nations – including France, Canada, Oman and Zimbabwe – without needing prior permission;

7 Oct 2025 Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) Addis Standard. President Tayé Atske Selassie announces that the 7th national election will be held during Ethiopia’s 7th current fiscal year (June to July 2026);

6 Oct 2025 Kigali (Rwanda) Kigali Today. Rwanda and Germany sign a grant agreement worth €18m ($19.5m) to support poverty reduction initiatives;

6 Oct 2025 Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) The CitizenBank of Tanzania (central bank) reports gold reached a record high of $4.3 billion in the year ending August 2025, driven by soaring global gold prices;

6 Oct 2025 Kampala (Uganda) Monitor. State-owned Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL), which assumed power distribution responsibilities from Umeme in April, is facing serious operational challenges, including infrastructure vandalism, internal sabotage and management inefficiencies, leading to widespread blackouts and public dissatisfaction;

5 Oct 2025 Nairobi (Kenya) Daily NationKenya Bankers Association calls on the Central Bank of Kenya to cut interest rates to enable cheaper loans and stimulate economic growth;

3 Oct 2025 Kigali (Rwanda) Reuters. Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) will reportedly not sign an economic framework this week as expected, as the United States (US)-negotiated peace deal between the two continues to stall;

2 Oct 2025 Djibouti (Djibouti) Freight News. London Court of International Arbitration issues a final ruling that Djibouti’s 2018 seizure of the Doraleh Container Terminal, built by United Arab Emirates (UAE)-headquartered DP World, was unlawful but does not award damages;

2 Oct 2025 Kinshasa (DRC) La Prosperite. Government begins adopting its National Disaster Risk Management Policy (2025–2050), aiming to shift from reactive crisis responses toward prevention, resilience and sustainable development;
