11 Nov 2025 Kinshasa (DRC) Semafor. The DRC suspends operations at the Chinese-owned Congo Dongfang International Mining (CDM) copper and cobalt mine after a dam collapse released toxic wastewater into Lubumbashi, flooding homes and contaminating local water supplies;

11 Nov 2025 Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) Reuters. Ethiopia is chosen to host the 32nd Conference of the Parties (COP32) summit in 2027, defeating a rival bid from Nigeria and securing a major diplomatic win that will allow Addis Ababa to help shape global climate negotiations;

11 Nov 2025 Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) Monitor. Four senior leaders of main opposition party, Chadema, are released on bail after police arrested them for their alleged involvement in protests following last month’s general election;

10 Nov 2025 Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) The Citizen. President Samia Suluhu Hassan signals potential cabinet changes by nominating new members of parliament, a move seen as preparation for a broader government reshuffle;

9 Nov 2025 Nairobi (Kenya) Daily Nation. Kenyan activists Nicholas Oyoo and Bob Njagi are released after 38 days in detention in Uganda;

9 Nov 2025 Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) MonitorIndependent National Electoral Commission (INEC) releases a list indicating 113 of the 115 members of parliament belong to the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), while two represent the CHAUMMA party, marking the second parliament to convene without an official opposition camp;

9 Nov 2025 Kampala (Uganda) Monitor. Two members of opposition leader Bobi Wine’s security team flee the country following a police and military raid on his camp in Lira, citing fear for their safety;

8 Nov 2025 Kigali (Rwanda) Reuters. Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Rwanda initiate a Regional Economic Integration Framework (REIF) in Washington, marking a step toward economic cooperation under a United States-backed peace initiative led by US President Donald Trump;

8 Nov 2025 Djibouti (Djibouti) Le Monde. President Ismail Omar Guelleh, in power since 1999, announces he will run for a sixth term in the April 2026 elections after parliament removed the 75-year age limit for presidential candidates;

7 Nov 2025 Kigali (Rwanda) Kigali Today. President Paul Kagame and first lady Jeannette Kagame host United States White House faith advisors to discuss shared values, peace, governance, and regional and global issues;

6 Nov 2025 Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) Borkena. Finance minister Ahmed Shide notes that Ethiopia and Russia are exploring stronger financial cooperation;

6 Nov 2025 Nairobi (Kenya) Daily Nation. President William Ruto notes that Kenya is experiencing renewed load shedding due to an electricity supply shortfall, largely because of a freeze on new power purchase agreements;

6 Nov 2025 Djibouti (Djibouti) Dawan Africa. Djibouti and Ethiopia sign an agreement to construct the second Djibouti–Ethiopia Power System Interconnection, financed by a $55m World Bank credit, to boost cross-border electricity trade and regional grid stability;

6 Nov 2025 Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) The Citizen. The Southern African Development Community (SADC) Election Observation Mission (SEOM) and other international observers release their preliminary reports on Tanzania’s recent elections, identifying gaps in the electoral process and recommending reforms to strengthen transparency and credibility;
